• Build and lead a high-performing AI team, including hiring key researchers, engineers, and technical specialists.

• Design and oversee the development of scalable AI systems, foundation model integrations, reasoning systems, multimodal architectures, and next-generation intelligent products.

• Work closely with executive leadership to identify strategic opportunities where AI can accelerate product development and company growth.

• Establish engineering best practices, technical standards, and development processes across the AI organisation.

• Drive rapid experimentation, prototyping, and deployment of AI capabilities in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate ambitious concepts into real-world products and capabilities.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor, contributing both strategically and hands-on when required.

Required experience and qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, software engineering, or related technical fields.

• Demonstrated experience building and scaling complex AI systems, products, or platforms.

• Strong understanding of modern AI architectures, large language models, reasoning systems, multimodal AI, agents, reinforcement learning, or related frontier AI technologies.

• Track record of leading major technical initiatives from concept through deployment.

• Experience hiring, building, and developing high-performing technical teams.

• Strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to operate across research, engineering, product, and business functions.

• Previous experience within leading AI organisations, advanced research environments, high-growth startups, or large-scale technology companies is highly desirable.

• Entrepreneurial mentality with a passion for solving difficult technical problems and operating in highly ambitious environments.

Preferred background

• Experience building and deploying large-scale AI systems, foundation models, agentic systems, reasoning frameworks, or multimodal AI platforms.

• Experience leading AI research, engineering, infrastructure, or platform teams.

• History of building teams, products, or organisations in a zero-to-one or early-stage environment.

• Experience operating at the intersection of research and production, translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into real-world products.

• Strong interest in shaping the future of intelligent systems and next-generation human-computer interaction.
